Revisions to the Proposed EEO-1 Report

By | July 15, 2016

On July 14, 2016, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced revisions to the proposed changes to the EEO-1 Report. The major change was moving the due date from September 30 to March 31, thereby allowing employers to use existing W-2 data as compiled for tax purposes. The announcement can be found on the EEOC website at:
https://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo1survey/2016_eeo-1_proposed_changes_revised.cfm.

The change in due date from September 30 to March 31 means the first report using the new format won’t be required until 2018, using Box 1 earnings from 2016 W-2 forms. The pay data will still be required for all employers with over 100 employees as would the hours worked. Comments by the public are due by August 15, 2016.
