OFCCP Posts Section 503 Compliance Checklist

By | August 12, 2015

On August 12, 2015, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) posted a checklist developed by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). The checklist can be found at: http://www.dol.gov/ofccp/regs/compliance/ChecklistforCompliancewithSection503_JRF_QA_508c.pdf.

The checklist focuses on the requirements of Subpart C of the Section 503 regulations and states several times that using it does not guarantee compliance with the regulations. Contractors are not required to use the checklist, however, many contractors may find the document helpful. The actual checklist is 12 pages long with each section and subsection of Subpart C of the regulations broken down into yes or no questions. For example, the questions for section 60-741.42(b) ask, “Does your organization invite each applicant at the post-offer stage (i.e., after an offer has been made but before the applicant begins his or her duties) to voluntarily self-identify as an individual with a disability? Does your organization invite each applicant at the post-offer stage to voluntarily self-identify as an individual with a disability using the OMB-approved form posted on the OFCCP website?”
