Use of Criminal Records in Employment Decisions

On January 29, 2013, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) issued Directive 306, which took effect immediately. The Directive deals with the exclusion of applicants or employees based on their criminal record.

OFCCP Sues U.S. Security Associates, Inc.

In a news release issued January 17, 2013, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) reported that the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has filed lawsuits against U.S. Security Associates, Inc. (USA) stemming from the company’s refusal to comply with scheduled compliance reviews. USA provides uniformed and trained guards and other emergency responders under federal contract.
