U.S. Census Bureau Releases EEO Tabulation 2006-2010

By | November 29, 2012

On November 29, 2012, the U.S. Census Bureau released the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Tabulation 2006-2010 (5-year ACS data).  The data can be downloaded from the American FactFinder website at: http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/nav/jsf/pages/searchresults.xhtml?refresh=t.

For the first time, the data for EEO Tabulation is based on five years (2006-2010) of American Community Survey (ACS) data as opposed to the decennial census.  With the new data release, the number of occupation codes has increased from 472 to 488.  The codes themselves have also changed from three digits to four. A number of occupation code and geographic area tools are available on the Downloads page of our website.

Specific tables are available for download through American FactFinder, though the full release is expected to be available through a Census Bureau FTP site by December 31, 2012. The November 29, 2012 release may not contain all of the data; if there is more data remaining, a second release date of December 13, 2012 has been set.

The Census Bureau hosted a pre-release webinar on November 28, 2012. The PowerPoint slides and archived recording can be found at:  http://www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/pdf/20121128_eeo_webinar_slides.pdf.
