OFCCP Settles With Caviness Beef Packers for $600,000

In a news release issued October 20, 2011, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced a settlement with Caviness Beef Packers Ltd. for $600,000.  The release can be found at: http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/ofccp/OFCCP20111521.htm#.ULfKg4aBxit.

Caviness entered into a Conciliation Agreement with the OFCCP, and agreed to pay $600,000 to the 746 members of the class to settle the allegations of discrimination against applicants based on gender and race.  The company also agreed to extend at least 81 job offers as positions become available.  Additionally, Caviness will revise its selection process to ensure full compliance with the law.
