OFCCP Settles With ThyssenKrupp Elevator Manufacturing for $288,333

In a news release issued June 16, 2011, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced a settlement with ThyssenKrupp Elevator Manufacturing Inc. in the amount $288,333 to be paid to a class of 248 women.  The release can be found at: http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/ofccp/OFCCP20110903.htm#.ULfUqYaBxiu.

ThyssenKrupp agreed to pay $288,333 to a class of women who were rejected for assembly/packer and utility positions.  The company will also make at least 23 job offers to members of the original class as positions become available.  Under the terms of the agreement with the OFCCP, ThyssenKrupp will also start self-monitoring and take corrective measures to ensure compliance with the law.
